Ancient deity
A deity is a postulated preternatural or supernatural immortal being, who may be thought of as holy, divine, or sacred, held in high regard, and respected by believers, often religiously referred to as a god.

Deities may be male or female, or non-gendered. They may be animals, or they may be objects, and in some religions or belief systems it is blasphemous to imagine them as any concrete thing.

While having intense and immense power, most belief systems and mythologies have deities as immortal, but not completely invincible. In fact, some mythologies have deity death as an integral part of the story of the world and even the universe.

It should also be noted that deities are not necessarily good. Some are distinctly evil, and others are completely uncaring in mortal affairs altogether.
